| Freebies: Free Magazine Subscriptions |
I'll try to have posts about freebies that I find on a regular basis. Most of the offers don't have expiration dates but for those that do, I'll make sure to let you know. There's nothing better than getting stuff for free!!! Even if your not interested in the offer, think about family members and friends that may like it. I got free subscriptions to Maxim and FHM for my two brothers and they loved it.
Now, I know there are skeptics out there because I was once one too ;). It took a friend at my job who was already receiving several free magazines to convince me. The world rewards the bold and brave! These really work, there's no catch. Here's how it generally works: You complete a quick survey (2-3 minutes), enter your name, address and email (I suggest you get a new email account that's separate from your main account because some offers do send you emails about other offers. So get a free account with Yahoo, for example, that you won't have to check. That's what I did.) Then the free magazines show up on your doorstep for the duration of your subscription (1-2 years). You DO NOT have to enter an credit card or banking information at any point. They are not betting on you forgetting to cancel your subscription so they can charge you for an automatic renewal fee. What they are hoping for is that you would get used to reading the magazine on a weekly or monthly basis and willing renew your subscription when they write to you at the end of your free trial. And you know what, it works. It happened to me with several magazines, including TIME. Some free subscriptions I'm currenlty getting are Today's Diet & Nutrition, Blender, Investment Advisor, Giant, Glamour. I really wish that The Economist would have free offers. If any of you hear about one, PLEASE let new know. It's a great mag.
Again, the main points to remember with these types of offers are:
- You don't pay any shipping fees, handling fees and no taxes. You pay NOTHING.
- Absolutely no hidden fees at all. You won't be billed later.
- In all the years I been getting free subscriptions, I never heard of anyone having billing problems. This will destroy this method of marketing for the magazines companies so they will not do this, it's not worth it to them.
- You should never be asked to give any credit card or bank information. If you are, I recommend that you don't take the offer.
